kokkiri (elephant), 2020
Designer: Yongwook Seong
Kokkiri is a Korean word for an elephant. ‘Ko’ refers to a nose, and ‘kkiri’ is originated from kiri, meaning length in Korean. Kokkiri thus connotes a being with a lengthy nose. Elephants are considered as one of non-human persons, who shows a ‘high’ level of intelligence and sociality.
Kokkiri introduces somewhat different experiences from zoo elephants to be kept and seen. Kids can climb Kokkiri and sleep, play, hide and slide with him/her.
